Still the King

June 28, 2015

Sam Soliman showed this weekend the reason he’s lasted so long in the sport of boxing. Even when the decision went against him in what has been described as one of the biggest robberies in boxing for the year, he was still smiling like a trooper.

His fight against the much younger Dominic Wade in Washington on June 27 was a split decision loss with one judge scoring the bout 95-94 for Wade after a dubious knockdown that looked more like a slip. If it hadn’t been counted it would have been a split draw. Soliman told journalists after the bout;

“A decision like this won’t bring me down. I know what I did. If you let them get to you like this, they win twice,” he said.

You can watch the fight for yourself and he the judge.

In the meantime, don’t forget the Soliman boxing workshop on August 9 at MBC. Spots are limited so make sure you purchase your ticket here at the MBC shop.
